Ingredients
  

Apple scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • tsp ground cinnamon
  • cup unsalted butter cold
  • cup 2% milk
  • cup granny smith apple shredded or chopped
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon and sugar

Glaze (optional)

  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Apple scones

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients until combined.
  • With a pastry cutter, add the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Next add chopped or shredded apple and milk and mix until the form a soft dough (if there is too much moisture add more flour).
  • Knead with your hands a couple of times, adding in extra flour until the dough is barely sticky. Divide into 2 balls. Flatten both dough balls into a disc that is 6 in in diameter. Using a sharp knife, divide each dough balls into 6 triangles.
  • Put triangles into a well greased baking sheet and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove and cool completely. During baking, make glaze in a small mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle glaze over top of apple scones and serve and enjoy!
