  • Food processor
  • Rolling pin
  • Whisk
  • Piping bag with piping tip

Ingredients

Mummy pop tart

  • 30 oz pie dough Aldi's

Cookies and cream filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup Oreo cookies crushed

White icing

  • 4 cups confectioner's sugar
  • ¼ cup 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°. Roll out one pie crust on the counter. Cut off the rounded edges to make a square shape.
  • Cut the square pie crust into four equal rectangular shapes (I had a total of 15).

  • Place the Oreo cookies in the food processor to crush the cookies into a fine crumb mixture. In a large mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies until well blended.

  • Smooth two teaspoons of the cookies and cream filling in an even layer over the top of each of the 15 squares.

  • With the leftover dough from each pie crust, cut in long thin strips.
  • Place the strips along the top of the pop tart and pinch the edges underneath to seal them.
  • Continue to criss cross strips of pie crust dough to make the pastries look like a mummy. Be sure to leave some room at the top for the candy eyes.

  • Bake the pastries on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once the pop tarts have cooled down, with the piping bag and tip drizzle the white icing all around the mummy. Place the eyes at the top and then serve!
