You want to know what your making tonight? Yup, these Easy Chocolate Caramel Brownies. They are packed full of extra sweetness and semi-sweet chocolate chips. The caramel layer puts the gooeyness factor through the roof. Definitely kid approved and super easy.

Another one of my kid approved desserts is the chocolate fudge pudding cake. Anytime ice cream is added to anything chocolate my three rascals go nuts!

    Easy Chocolate Caramel Brownies

After finally getting back into the normal groove and routine for the kids this past week, I just wanted an easy dessert to make. So I turned to this oldie but goodie and got my brownie fix.

These brownies with a big ole' glass of milk really gives you that after dinner treat you deserve and really satisfies the sweet tooth.

There are only 4 ingredients in this recipe!

    •  Duncan Hines fudge brownie mix:  Any store bought brand would work and if you want to make it a little more time consuming make your own mix.
    • Sweetened condensed milk: adds additional sweetness, moisture, and fat.
    • Semi-sweet chocolate: I used chips, but you could also use the bars.
    • Caramels: I used the kraft brand and melted in the microwave, but making your own caramel is also an option.

    Are these brownies kid friendly?

This is my beautiful Norah. She is my little baker and was really excited that she could be a part of making these easy chocolate caramel brownies.

It is a super kid friendly dessert. Norah was eager to help and has become my side-kick with all my baking endeavours.

Have your kiddos unwrap the caramels and help measure and add ingredients to a mixing bowl. It is a great bonding activity.

First, grab a mixing bowl and add brownie mix in. Prepare according to directions on the box. Second, add in Ghiardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips. Lastly, add in your ⅓ cup of sweetened condensed milk. Mix together until combined well. Place half of the brownie batter at the bottom on cake pan.

In a microwave safe bowl, put all of the caramels and the rest of the sweetened condensed milk. Heat in microwave for 1 minute. Take out an stir and return to microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted. Then pour the caramel mixture on top of brownie mixture.

Once the caramel mixture is placed on top of the brownie mixture add the rest of the brownie mixture on top of the caramel mixture. Place in oven for about 25-28 minutes. Center should be set and the toothpick should come out clean when brownies are done. Cool for about 30 minutes. Cut into squares. Serve and enjoy!

    About me Carrie Blaser

Hi my name is Carrie. I am just a sassy girl from the midwest that has a sweet tooth for any type of dessert. I grew up in the kitchen and remember making my sister scrambled eggs at 8 years old. But I really fell in love with baking when I made my first Betty Crocker cake out of the box. I like to think that I have come a long way since then!
