Hi my name is Carrie Blaser and welcome to my blog. You are probably wondering, who is Carrie Blaser? I am just a sassy and sarcastic girl from the midwest that has a sweet tooth for any type of dessert.
I grew up in the kitchen and remember making my sister scrambled eggs at 8 years old (mind you she is 2 years older and didn't know what ½ was)! But I really fell in love with baking when I made my first Betty Crocker cake out of the box. I like to think that I have come a long way since then!
I am a self taught baker and a recipe experimenter (sounds better than developer) and my inspiration has come from all the self taught bakers before me and any memorable dessert that I have made. When I am not experimenting with my own recipes, I am using the ones that were passed down to me from the generations of women in my family.
When I am not baking I wear many hats. I am a SAHM and mainly trying to keep my kids alive on a daily basis. I am also a soccer mom (even on the freezing cold ass days), chauffeur, a pediatric nurse practitioner, a fur baby mom, and a wife. I'm rockin the saggy post party body to the fullest! All you SAHM know exactly what I am talking about here!
Basically, each day is a crap shoot and if we all have our limbs at the end of the day, I'm winning!
Our town
I live with my husband Bill and 3 kids in a little town called Mukwonago, WI. We have been here since 2010 and love the small town feel of everything! It is a lovely bedroom community and is expanding each year.
Education
I went to Loras College in the lovely small town of Dubuque, IA. I am pretty sure anyone reading this has no clue where that is located, but I swear it does exist. I played soccer for the Duhawks for 4 years and graduated with my BA in Exercise Science.
So I really had no idea what I was going to do with my degree from Loras, so I figured why not continue my education! Two weeks after I graduated from Loras, I started my nursing adventure at Marquette University in Milwaukee WI.
After three long and intense years at Marquette, I graduated with my Master's in Nursing and practiced for 15 years as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Why a Baking Blog?
In February of 2019, I decided it was time for me to focus more on myself and my three kids. I became a full time SAHM and have been baking until the cows come home and I love it!
My kids don't mind as they can taste test everything I make. Even Ruby sneaks a lick off Jacob's beater on a daily. Making anything sweet has become my therapy and is literally my version of chicken soup for the soul. You will see my kids and fur baby in my posts and I promise none of them were hurt in the making of this blog!
Of course like many bloggers before me, I have decided to do this on a whim. Now I actually have the time to share my passion of baking with you. I really hope you enjoy my delicious recipes!
Please enjoy my blog. Since I have a fun and crazy personality, you will see some fun facts inserted throughout my posts purely for you entertainment.
